The closest and main attraction to the site is Kielder Water & Forest Park (01434 220616), which just happens to be the largest man-made lake and forest in Northern Europe. You can also wander the historic streets of Bellingham and Hexham, 10 miles south.

We are located 1 mile north of Allerston village which is on the A170 Pickering to Scarborough road, 5 miles from the historic market town of Pickering backpacking sites kielder forest and 12 miles from the seaside town of Scarborough.

There are numerous walking and cycling opportunities from the site. Walk to the busy village of Bellingham (20 mins) and then to the magical Hareshaw Linn waterfall through ancient woodland. Enjoy a walk along the North Tyne riverbank, cycle the quiet lanes to Greenhaugh village, or spend the day in Kielder Water and Forest Park.
